FREY. Founder, Frederieke van Doorn, spent 12 years in China working in men’s tailoring with Suit Supply. She immersed herself in the world of fabrics, design, prints, and production runs. After relocating to Hong Kong, Frederieke was tired of the rigid, ill-fitting suits that dominated corporate culture and was frustrated that there weren’t more options for women. Four years ago, she decided to take matters into her own hands, resulting in the birth of FREY.
With a ‘Ready-To-Wear’ seasonal collection and a ‘Create-Your-Own’ tailoring service (currently available upon request), FREY. offers luxurious yet affordable options for office and everyday wear.
FREY. creates high-quality staple pieces that will last beyond a few seasons. We exclusively utilize natural and semi-natural materials, along with deadstock. Our premium fabrics are sourced from renowned Italian mills with a surplus of unsold fabric known as deadstock. By repurposing these materials, we ensure our collections are made from top-quality fabrics without contributing to new production pollution.

For almost twenty years, Frederieke’s career was in men’s tailoring, working with Suit Supply. She lived and breathed fabric, design, sharp tailoring, production runs, emerging trends, and the industry’s market mechanisms.
2020 had an unprecedented impact on fashion brands and retailers. The industry’s slowdown gave Frederieke time to reflect on her career and where she wanted to head next.
“I envisioned a brand that would provide women with the same high-quality business attire that is typically offered by men’s brands. At the same time, the disruption caused by the pandemic heightened the urgency for reform within the fashion industry. I recognized the need for change and wanted to take an active part in it,” says Frederieke.
Frederieke decided to launch a women’s brand that caters to the distinct needs and aspirations of female tailoring. She dreamed of a brand where she could create a sense of magic—the kind that arises when a woman feels both empowered and at ease in what they wear.
Not only does FREY. offer ready-to-wear collections; customers also have the option to create their own pieces, selecting from a wide range of styles and fabrics. FREY. utilizes AI technology to obtain customer measurements through just two photographs. This innovative approach equips the design team with the necessary dimensions to create styles that fit clients perfectly. Currently, this service is available upon request.
