✨ This month, we had the incredible honour of dressing Uzma Naveed for TEDxTinHau Women "Reframe" 2025. Uzma is the first refugee woman in Hong Kong to deliver a TED Talk —and her presentation received a well-deserved standing ovation!
Uzma gave a voice to those who are often unheard. In a world filled with dehumanization and increasing disconnection, she emphasized the inherent worth of every person. As human beings, we instinctively strive for dignity, a sense of belonging, and a meaningful purpose. We all desire to make a contribution, and this applies to refugees as well.
She shared her personal experience regarding the stigma and shame imposed by others’ perceptions. Despite this pain, Uzma discovered the strength not only to take back control of her life but also to help others do the same. Now, she supports asylum seekers in Hong Kong, providing the unconditional compassion that she once desperately needed.
Witnessing Uzma engage with the audience and impart such profound insights served as a powerful reminder of the influence one individual can have.
