Rooted in the elegance of the oryx, eland, and gemsbok, the collection translates the animals’ graceful geometry into pieces that balance precision with fluidity. Their streamlined silhouettes and harmonious proportions become the blueprint for tailoring that feels both architectural and effortless.
The colour story unfolds in shades of burnt clay, mineral grey, sand, and bone — hues that evoke the warmth of sunlit earth and the timeless neutrality of natural landscapes. 
These tones, both deep and luminous, form a foundation for pieces that transcend seasonal trends, offering a sense of calm sophistication.
Texture plays a central role in “African Meadow.” The collection draws inspiration from the cinematic photography of Jacques Olivar, whose painterly use of light and shadow captures the essence of sun-bleached horizons and warm contrasts. 
Jacques' portraits, particularly those created in Cape Town, inform the tactile language of the collection: matte linens, silks with a soft sheen, and cottons that recall the crispness of sun-fired clay. Each fabric choice reflects the interplay of light and texture found in Olivar’s imagery, creating pieces that feel alive with subtle movement and depth.
Tailoring in this collection is relaxed yet deliberate. Jackets drape gently over the shoulders, trousers move with the ease of grass in a breeze, and every line follows the body without constraint. The result is a wardrobe that embodies the duality of strength and grace — much like the antelope that inspired it.

All FREY. collections are made exclusively from natural fabrics — polyester is never used. We incorporate lightweight summer wool, which is perfect for the hotter months. This wool is spun tightly but woven loosely, creating gaps that promote airflow and enhance breathability. It drapes beautifully on the body, highlighting the wool's natural flow.
In addition, we feature natural blends like silk and linen, along with a lightweight basketweave crafted from 100% pure bamboo. Our range also showcases luxurious Italian cotton, ideal for warmer climates. This versatile collection is designed for wear from summer through winter.
